أَسۡبَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُۥ كَٰذِبٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَصُدَّ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ وَمَا كَيۡدُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٖ
The ways into the heavens - so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar." And thus was made attractive to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin.

Al-Mukhtasar
In the hope that I can access the paths that lead to the skies and see the God of Moses that he claims is the true God. In this way, Pharoah's evil deeds were adorned for him when he requested that from Haman and was turned from the true path to the path of misguidance. The plot of Pharaoh to make the falsehood he believed dominant and to refute the truth Moses brought was a total failure because it was ill-advised, a futile attempt, and led to perpetual damnation.
