إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّمَنۡ خَافَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمٞ مَّجۡمُوعٞ لَّهُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمٞ مَّشۡهُودٞ
Indeed in that is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed.

Al-Mukhtasar
In Allah's severe punishment of those disobedient towns, there is a lesson and warning for the one who fears the punishment of the Day of Resurrection. Allah will gather people on that day to take them to account, and all people on the plains of the resurrection will witness it.
