قُل لِّعِبَادِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ سِرّٗا وَعَلَانِيَةٗ مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ يَوۡمٞ لَّا بَيۡعٞ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَٰلٌ
[O Muḥammad], tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, before a Day comes in which there will be no exchange [i.e., ransom], nor any friendships.

Al-Mukhtasar
Say, O Messenger, to the believers, perfectly perform your prayers and spend in the way of your Lord from the provisions We have given you for both mandatory and voluntary charity. Spend secretly, fearing ostentation, and openly so others may take you as examples. Do this before a day comes to you in which there will be no trade or ransom to redeem yourselves from Allah's punishment. There will be no friendship so that a friend could intercede for another.
