أَسۡمِعۡ بِهِمۡ وَأَبۡصِرۡ يَوۡمَ يَأۡتُونَنَا لَٰكِنِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
How [clearly] they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in clear error.

Al-Mukhtasar
How hearing and seeing they will be on that day. They will hear when hearing will not benefit them, and they will see when seeing will not benefit them. Instead, the unjust in the worldly life are in clear misguidance from the straight path. Therefore, they will not prepare for the Afterlife until it comes to them abruptly while they are upon their injustice.
