ذَٰلِكَ لِيَعۡلَمَ أَنِّي لَمۡ أَخُنۡهُ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي كَيۡدَ ٱلۡخَآئِنِينَ
That is so he [i.e., al-ʿAzeez] will know that I did not betray him in [his] absence and that Allāh does not guide the plan of betrayers.

Al-Mukhtasar
The wife of the minister said: This disclosure was so that Joseph would know through my confession that it was me who had tried to seduce him and that he was truthful and that I had not lied about him in his absence, as it had become clear to me from what had happened that Allah does not give success to those who lie and hatch plans.
