وَقَالَ يَٰبَنِيَّ لَا تَدۡخُلُواْ مِنۢ بَابٖ وَٰحِدٖ وَٱدۡخُلُواْ مِنۡ أَبۡوَٰبٖ مُّتَفَرِّقَةٖۖ وَمَآ أُغۡنِي عَنكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَيۡءٍۖ إِنِ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِۖ عَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡتُۖ وَعَلَيۡهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
And he said, "O my sons, do not enter from one gate but enter from different gates; and I cannot avail you against [the decree of] Allāh at all. The decision is only for Allāh; upon Him I have relied, and upon Him let those who would rely [indeed] rely."

Al-Mukhtasar
And their father advised them saying, do not enter Egypt from one gate all together, but enter from different gates. This would be safer in terms of someone harming all of you if they wished to do so. I do not tell you this to repel harm from you that Allah may have willed for you nor to gain you benefit that Allah had not willed. The decree is none but the decree of Allah, and the matter is none but by His command; upon Him alone I rely in all my affairs, and upon Him alone may the people rely on in their affairs.
