Surah Yusuf 12:84 يوسف

وَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ وَقَالَ يَٰٓأَسَفَىٰ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَٱبۡيَضَّتۡ عَيۡنَاهُ مِنَ ٱلۡحُزۡنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٞ

And he turned away from them and said, "Oh, my sorrow over Joseph," and his eyes became white⁶¹⁴ from grief, for he was [of that] a suppressor.⁶¹⁵

614 i.e., he lost his sight.
615 He did not express the extent of his grief or his anger at what he suspected his sons had done but was patient, depending only upon Allāh for help.

Al-Mukhtasar

He turned away from them and said: O, my dire sorrow over Joseph. The blackness of his eyes became whitened from how much he cried over him. He was filled with sadness and worry but hid his sadness from the people.
