Surah Al-An'am 6:119 الأنعام

What prevents you, O believers, from eating what was slaughtered in Allah's name when Allah has clarified what is unlawful for you? It is, therefore, necessary for you to leave that which is forbidden unless you are forced by necessity to eat it, in which case it will be lawful. But unfortunately, many of the misguided polytheists mislead their followers with their incorrect views. They consider lawful that which Allah has made unlawful (such as the flesh of animals that died without being slaughtered), and they consider unlawful that which Allah has made lawful (such as the baḥīrah - a she-camel whose ear is cut after it gives birth to a certain number, waṣīlah - a she-camel that gives birth to one female after another, ḥāmī - a male camel stud that mates with other camels and produces a given number of offspring, etc.). Your Lord, O Messenger, knows best those who overstep His limits, and He will recompense them for their transgression.
