يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ رُسُلٞ مِّنكُمۡ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِي وَيُنذِرُونَكُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَاۚ قَالُواْ شَهِدۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِنَاۖ وَغَرَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَشَهِدُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ كَٰفِرِينَ
"O company of jinn and mankind,344 did there not come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves"; and the worldly life had deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

Al-Mukhtasar
On the Day of Resurrection, I will address the jinns and humanity and ask them if messengers from amongst them had not come to them, reciting what Allah had revealed to them and warning them that they will meet this day, the Day of Resurrection. They will say: Of course they did. Today, we confess against ourselves that Your messengers did communicate Your message to us and told us about the meeting of this day, but we had rejected Your messengers and denied the meeting of this day. The life of the world, with its fleeting beauty, decorations, and luxuries, had deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they disbelieved in Allah and His messengers in the worldly life. Yet this confession and acceptance will not be of any use to them, as the time for its usefulness would have already passed.
