وَإِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِن قَوۡمٍ خِيَانَةٗ فَٱنۢبِذۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡخَآئِنِينَ
If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms.455 Indeed, Allāh does not like traitors.

- 455 When you see signs of treachery from those with whom you have made a treaty, announce to them its dissolution so they will know exactly where they stand.

Al-Mukhtasar
And if you fear, O Messenger, that a people with whom you made a covenant will cheat and break the covenant with a sign that appears to you, then inform them that the covenant is canceled so that they are equal with you in the knowledge of that. And do not attack them suddenly without informing them because doing so will be a betrayal on your part. Indeed, Allah does not love the traitors, but He hates them, so beware of treachery.
