And recite to them, [O Muḥammad], the news of him418 to whom We gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators.419

Al-Mukhtasar
Recite, O Messenger, to the Israelites the news of a man from among them whom We gave Our signs to such that he knew them and understood the truth they indicated. But he did not act according to them. Rather, he left them and removed himself from them. Then the Devil followed him and became a close companion for him, so he became one of the misguided and ruined after he had been among the guided and saved.
