Surah Al-Hajj 22:28 الحج

لِّيَشۡهَدُواْ مَنَٰفِعَ لَهُمۡ وَيَذۡكُرُواْ ٱسۡمَ ٱللَّهِ فِيٓ أَيَّامٖ مَّعۡلُومَٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِۖ فَكُلُواْ مِنۡهَا وَأَطۡعِمُواْ ٱلۡبَآئِسَ ٱلۡفَقِيرَ
That they may witness [i.e., attend] benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allāh on known [i.e., specific] days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals.924 So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.

Al-Mukhtasar
So that they come to what will bring them benefit such as forgiveness of sins, attaining reward, unity, and so forth; and so that they mention the Name of Allah on the sacrificial animals they slaughter on appointed days, which are: the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah and three days after it, in gratitude to Allah for the camels, cows, and sheep He granted them. So eat of these sacrificial animals and feed from them those who are extremely poor.
