لَيۡسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ شَيۡءٌ أَوۡ يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَوۡ يُعَذِّبَهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ ظَٰلِمُونَ
Not for you, [O Muḥammad, but for Allāh], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.

Al-Mukhtasar
When the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم supplicated for the destruction of the polytheists' leaders after what transpired on their part during the Battle of Uhud, Allah said to him: "Nothing of their affair is for you [to determine]. Rather, all matters are for Allah [to determine]. So, be patient until Allah decides between you: either by guiding them to repentance and the acceptance of Islam; or by their persisting in disbelief. Then, He will punish them. In that case, they would indeed be oppressors deserving of punishment."
