Surah An-Nisa 4:129 النساء

وَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعُوٓاْ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتُمۡۖ فَلَا تَمِيلُواْ كُلَّ ٱلۡمَيۡلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَٱلۡمُعَلَّقَةِۚ وَإِن تُصۡلِحُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا
And you will never be able to be equal [in feeling] between wives, even if you should strive [to do so]. So do not incline completely [toward one] and leave another hanging.221 And if you amend [your affairs] and fear Allāh - then indeed, Allāh is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

Al-Mukhtasar
You, O husbands, will not be able to be entirely just towards your wives concerning inclinations of the heart, even if you aspire to that. This may be due to circumstances and factors beyond your control. So do not disincline too far away from the one you do not love and leave her hanging suspended to the point where she does not have a husband to fulfill her rights, nor is she unmarried so that she may marry someone else. If you make right what is between you by pushing yourselves to not insist on having things your way, giving the wife her due rights, and fearing Allah concerning her, then Allah is Ever-Forgiving and Merciful with you.
