رُّسُلٗا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةُۢ بَعۡدَ ٱلرُّسُلِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا
[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allāh after the messengers. And ever is Allāh Exalted in Might and Wise.

Al-Mukhtasar
We sent them as bearers of glad tidings of a generous reward for those who believe in Allah and to warn those who disbelieve in Him of a painful torment. That is so that the people have no proof to use against Allah to excuse themselves after He had sent the messengers. Allah is eternally Mighty in His sovereignty and eternally Wise in his decree.
