أَفَمَنۡ هُوَ قَآئِمٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡۗ وَجَعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ قُلۡ سَمُّوهُمۡۚ أَمۡ تُنَبِّـُٔونَهُۥ بِمَا لَا يَعۡلَمُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَم بِظَٰهِرٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِۗ بَلۡ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مَكۡرُهُمۡ وَصُدُّواْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۗ وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنۡ هَادٖ
Then is He who is a maintainer of every soul, [knowing] what it has earned, [like any other]? But to Allāh they have attributed partners. Say, "Name them. Or do you inform Him of that641 which He knows not upon the earth or of what is apparent [i.e., alleged] of speech?"642 Rather, their [own] plan has been made attractive to those who disbelieve, and they have been averted from the way. And whomever Allāh sends astray - there will be for him no guide.

Al-Mukhtasar
Is the One who watches over the actions of every soul and who recompenses it for its deeds more deserving of worship, or these idols who do not have that right? The disbelievers have unjustly and falsely made them partners to Allah. Say to them - O Messenger -: Tell us the names of the partners you worship with Allah if you are genuine in your claim. Or are you informing Allah of partners on earth that He does not know of? Or are you informing Him with a show of words that have no reality? Instead, the Devil has beautified the evil designs of the disbelievers. Whomever Allah misguides from the path of righteousness has no guidance to be guided by.
