يُولِجُ ٱلَّيۡلَ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِي ٱلَّيۡلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِن قِطۡمِيرٍ
He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allāh, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed.

Al-Mukhtasar
Allah slowly extends the night into the day, so it becomes longer, and the day into the night, so it becomes longer. And He made the sun and the moon subservient; each floats in its appointed orbit until a fixed time only Allah knows, which is the Day of Resurrection. Allah, your Lord, sets all of that and carries it out. To Him alone belongs the kingdom. And the idols you worship besides Him do not even possess the thin [flaky] membrane over the datestone, so how do you worship them besides Me?
