۞ وَقَيَّضۡنَا لَهُمۡ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَيَّنُواْ لَهُم مَّا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ
And We appointed for them companions1390 who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

Al-Mukhtasar
We sent upon these disbelievers companions from the devils, who would constantly be close to them, beautifying their evil actions and rejection of the resurrection, so they made them forget it and neglect to work towards it. The punishment is binding upon them as it was upon the nations previously from the humans and Jinn. Indeed, they are the losers who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection when they enter the Fire.
