وَأَنذِرِ ٱلنَّاسَ يَوۡمَ يَأۡتِيهِمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَخِّرۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ قَرِيبٖ نُّجِبۡ دَعۡوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ ٱلرُّسُلَۗ أَوَلَمۡ تَكُونُوٓاْ أَقۡسَمۡتُم مِّن قَبۡلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٖ
And, [O Muḥammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?664

Al-Mukhtasar
And make your people fear, O Messenger, the torment of the Day of Resurrection. Those who wronged themselves by disbelieving in Allah and associating partners with Him will say: O Our Lord, give us respite, and delay our punishment. Return us to the world briefly so we may believe in You and follow the Messengers You sent us. They will be given a reprimanding response: Did you not swear, while you were on earth, that you would not be transferred from the world to the Afterlife, and you disbelieved in the resurrection after death?
