إِذۡ تَمۡشِيٓ أُخۡتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكۡفُلُهُۥۖ فَرَجَعۡنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَيۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَۚ وَقَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسٗا فَنَجَّيۡنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونٗاۚ فَلَبِثۡتَ سِنِينَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِ مَدۡيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئۡتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٖ يَٰمُوسَىٰ
[And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone,836 but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses.

Al-Mukhtasar
When your sister went out following the chest, moving whenever it moved, then said to those who took it: Shall I guide you to who will care for him, nurse him and rear him? So We granted favor upon you by returning you to your mother so that she could rejoice with your return to her and not grieve over you. Then You killed the Copt you punched, so We granted favor upon you by saving you from the punishment. And we saved you time and again from every test that you faced. You then left and stayed among the people of Midian for years, and then you came at the time that was specified for you to come to be spoken to, O Moses.
