وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئۡتِ بِقُرۡءَانٍ غَيۡرِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ بَدِّلۡهُۚ قُلۡ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنۡ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلۡقَآيِٕ نَفۡسِيٓۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّۖ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ إِنۡ عَصَيۡتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur’ān other than this or change it." Say, [O Muḥammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

Al-Mukhtasar
When the clear verses of the Quran are recited to them proving the Oneness of Allah, those who deny the resurrection, do not hope for a reward, and do not fear torment, say: O Muhammad, bring a Quran other than this Quran that insults the worshipping of idols or change it by abrogating some or all of it according to what agrees with our desires. O Messenger, tell them: It is not up to me to change it, let alone bring something other than it. Instead, it is Allah alone Who changes what He wills of it, and I only follow what Allah reveals to me. I fear that if I disobey Allah by responding to your request, I will be punished on a great Day, the Day of Resurrection.
