وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِم مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓۗ أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۗ وَلَدَارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ خَيۡرٞ لِّلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
And We sent not before you [as messengers] except men to whom We revealed from among the people of cities. So have they620 not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? And the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allāh; then will you not reason?

Al-Mukhtasar
And We have not sent before you - O Messenger- except men, in human form, not angels. We reveal to them as We have revealed to you from the people of the towns and not from the people of the deserts; their people denied them, so We destroyed them. Therefore, will not those who reject you walk the earth, contemplate the result of those deniers before them, and thus be admonished? And what is in the abode of the hereafter from bliss is better for those who fear Allah in this worldly life. Do you not realize that it is better so you would fear Allah and fulfill His commands - the greatest of which is belief - and avoid His Prohibitions, the greatest of which is associating partners with Allah?
