وَمَا كَانَ صَلَاتُهُمۡ عِندَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ إِلَّا مُكَآءٗ وَتَصۡدِيَةٗۚ فَذُوقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ
And their prayer at the House [i.e., the Kaʿbah] was not except whistling and handclapping. So taste the punishment for what you disbelieved [i.e., practiced of deviations].

Al-Mukhtasar
The prayer of the polytheists in Sacred Mosque was only whistling and clapping. So taste the torment, O polytheists, by being slain or captured on the day of Badr for your disbelief in Allah and your rejection of His Messenger.
