لَا يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ جَمِيعًا إِلَّا فِي قُرٗى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوۡ مِن وَرَآءِ جُدُرِۭۚ بَأۡسُهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡ شَدِيدٞۚ تَحۡسَبُهُمۡ جَمِيعٗا وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ شَتَّىٰۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَعۡقِلُونَ
They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls. Their violence [i.e., enmity] among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.

Al-Mukhtasar
The gathered Jews do not fight you, O believers, except in towns fortified with defensive walls or behind walls, for they cannot face you out of their cowardice. Their strife between themselves is strong due to the enmity between them. You think they are upon a single word and that their ranks are unified. The reality is that their hearts are divided and differ. That difference and enmity is because, indeed, they are not rational. If they had reason, they would have known the truth, followed it, and not differed regarding it.
