۞ وَتَرَى ٱلشَّمۡسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَٰوَرُ عَن كَهۡفِهِمۡ ذَاتَ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقۡرِضُهُمۡ ذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ وَهُمۡ فِي فَجۡوَةٖ مِّنۡهُۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِۗ مَن يَهۡدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلۡمُهۡتَدِۖ وَمَن يُضۡلِلۡ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ وَلِيّٗا مُّرۡشِدٗا
And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were [lying] within an open space thereof. That was from the signs of Allāh. He whom Allāh guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He sends astray - never will you find for him a protecting guide.

Al-Mukhtasar
They thus fulfilled the instruction, and Allah put them to sleep and protected them from their enemy. You - O one who looks at them - will see the sun when it rises from the east, inclining away from their cave to the right of one entering it; and at the time of sunset, it moves away from the cave towards the left but does not strike it directly. Therefore, they are in perpetual shade, unaffected by the sun's heat. They are in a wide space within the cave where the air they require reaches them. The abovementioned occurrences, namely, their taking refuge in the cave, their being put to sleep, the sun's deviation from them, the spaciousness in the cave, and their salvation from their people, are all wondrous acts of Allah that indicate His power. Whoever Allah guides to the path of guidance is truly guided. Whoever Allah forsakes and lets go astray, you will never find anyone to help and guide him to the right path. This is because guidance is in Allah's Hand and not in his.
