قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَن نَّدۡخُلَهَآ أَبَدٗا مَّا دَامُواْ فِيهَا فَٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَٰتِلَآ إِنَّا هَٰهُنَا قَٰعِدُونَ
They said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here."

Al-Mukhtasar
Those from the Israelites who persisted in disobeying the order of their prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said: We will never enter the city so long as the tyrants are still there, so you (O Moses) and your Lord can go and fight them. As for us, we will stay behind here and not fight alongside you.
