يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَقۡتُلُواْ ٱلصَّيۡدَ وَأَنتُمۡ حُرُمٞۚ وَمَن قَتَلَهُۥ مِنكُم مُّتَعَمِّدٗا فَجَزَآءٞ مِّثۡلُ مَا قَتَلَ مِنَ ٱلنَّعَمِ يَحۡكُمُ بِهِۦ ذَوَا عَدۡلٖ مِّنكُمۡ هَدۡيَۢا بَٰلِغَ ٱلۡكَعۡبَةِ أَوۡ كَفَّٰرَةٞ طَعَامُ مَسَٰكِينَ أَوۡ عَدۡلُ ذَٰلِكَ صِيَامٗا لِّيَذُوقَ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِۦۗ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا سَلَفَۚ وَمَنۡ عَادَ فَيَنتَقِمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡهُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٞ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ
O you who have believed, do not kill game while you are in the state of iḥrām.283 And whoever of you kills it intentionally - the penalty is an equivalent from sacrificial animals to what he killed, as judged by two just men among you as an offering [to Allāh] delivered to the Kaʿbah, or an expiation: the feeding of needy people or the equivalent of that in fasting, that he may taste the consequence of his matter [i.e., deed]. Allāh has pardoned what is past; but whoever returns [to violation], then Allāh will take retribution from him. And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.284

Al-Mukhtasar
O you who believe, do not kill the land game when you are in the state of Ihram (ritual sanctity). Whoever of you does so deliberately shall be liable for recompense equivalent to the game they killed from camels, cattle, or sheep. Two men known to be upright amongst the Muslims will judge this. The animal they decide on shall be treated like a sacrificial animal and sent to Mecca to be slaughtered in the Haram (Sanctuary). Another option for the recompense is that the equivalent value should be distributed to the poor within the Haram; every poor person should receive half a sa` of grain, or the fast of one day should be kept for every half sa` of grain. All of that is so that the hunter may taste the consequences of his actions. Allah has overlooked the game of the Haram, which were killed in the past, and the person who hunted the land game in the state of Ihram before the prohibition. If anyone repeats this after the prohibition, then Allah will take retribution from them by punishing them for the same. Allah is Mighty and Powerful. Due to His Might, He can take revenge on those who disobey Him if He wishes; nothing can stop Him from doing so.
