Surah Ali 'Imran 3:117 آل عمران

مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٖ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتۡ حَرۡثَ قَوۡمٖ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ فَأَهۡلَكَتۡهُۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنۡ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ
The example of what they spend in this worldly life is like that of a wind containing frost which strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves [i.e., sinned] and destroys it. And Allāh has not wronged them, but they wrong themselves.

Al-Mukhtasar
A parable for what these disbelievers spend in the causes of benevolence and what they expect of rewards for it is like a freezing wind that hits and ruins the crops of a people. So, their crops were ruined when they had expected a great amount of good. Just as this wind ruined the crops and ruined the benefit in them, likewise, disbelief ruins the reward of actions in which they had hope. Allah does not wrong them---He is far above that---rather, they only wrong themselves because of their disbelief in Him and their denial of His Messengers.
