Surah An-Nahl 16:106 النحل

مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنۡ أُكۡرِهَ وَقَلۡبُهُۥ مُطۡمَئِنُّۢ بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ وَلَٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِٱلۡكُفۡرِ صَدۡرٗا فَعَلَيۡهِمۡ غَضَبٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
Whoever disbelieves in [i.e., denies] Allāh after his belief...716 except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allāh, and for them is a great punishment;

Al-Mukhtasar
Whoever disbelieves in Allah after believing in Him - not those who are forced to disbelieve and utter words of disbelief while their hearts are at peace with their belief [in Allah] - but rather those who embrace disbelief wholeheartedly and choose it over belief [in Allah] and utter it voluntarily then such people are apostates from Islam. The anger of Allah is on them, and in the Hereafter, they will receive a great punishment.
