۞ قَالُوٓاْ إِن يَسۡرِقۡ فَقَدۡ سَرَقَ أَخٞ لَّهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُۚ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِي نَفۡسِهِۦ وَلَمۡ يُبۡدِهَا لَهُمۡۚ قَالَ أَنتُمۡ شَرّٞ مَّكَانٗاۖ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ
They said, "If he steals - a brother of his has stolen before." But Joseph kept it within himself and did not reveal it to them.610 He said, "You are worse in position, and Allāh is most knowing of what you describe."

Al-Mukhtasar
The brothers of Joseph said: If he stole, then it is not surprising, for his full-brother -meaning Joseph (peace be upon him- had stolen even before him. Joseph concealed his hurt at what they said. He said to himself: In this circumstance, what you have preceded in wrongdoing and envy is in and of itself evil. Allah the Exalted knows this defamation you have committed.
