وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِي مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِي مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞ
And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people1097 and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy."

Al-Mukhtasar
Moses entered the city when the people were resting in their homes and found two men arguing and fighting. One was an Israelite from Moses' people, and the other was a Copt from the people of Pharaoh, who were Moses' enemies. The one from his people, the Israelite, asked Moses to help him against the one from his enemies, the Copt. Then, Moses punched the Copt so hard that he killed him. Moses then said: This is from the temptation and deception of the Devil. He is a clear enemy who misguides those who follow him. Whatever happened was due to the Devil's enmity and misguidance, and he intended to misguide me.
