Surah Al-Mumtahanah 60:1 الممتحنة

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَ تُلۡقُونَ إِلَيۡهِم بِٱلۡمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدۡ كَفَرُواْ بِمَا جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ يُخۡرِجُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَإِيَّاكُمۡ أَن تُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ رَبِّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ خَرَجۡتُمۡ جِهَٰدٗا فِي سَبِيلِي وَٱبۡتِغَآءَ مَرۡضَاتِيۚ تُسِرُّونَ إِلَيۡهِم بِٱلۡمَوَدَّةِ وَأَنَا۠ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَآ أَخۡفَيۡتُمۡ وَمَآ أَعۡلَنتُمۡۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡهُ مِنكُمۡ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies,1672 extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth, having driven out the Prophet and yourselves [only] because you believe in Allāh, your Lord. If you have come out for jihād [i.e., fighting or striving] in My cause and seeking means to My approval, [take them not as friends]. You confide to them affection [i.e., instruction], but I am most knowing of what you have concealed and what you have declared. And whoever does it among you has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

Al-Mukhtasar
O you who believe in Allah and act by what He legislated for them, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies by allying and exchanging affection with them. They have disbelieved in what has come to you at the hand of your Messenger of the religion. They expelled the Messenger from his home and likewise expelled you from your homes in Mecca, not observing any relation or tie of kinship, for nothing other than [the fact that] you believed in Allah, your Lord. If you go out for the sake of jihad (struggle) in My path, seeking my contentment, do not secretly give them the news of the Muslims as affection for them while I know what you hide of that and what you disclose. Nothing of that or anything else is hidden from Me. And whosoever makes such an alliance and mutual affection with the disbelievers has deviated from the middle of the road, gone astray from the truth, and become far from what is correct.
