Maghrib prayer
Maghrib begins at sunset and ends when the evening twilight has gone.
Maghrib is the sunset prayer. Its window opens once the disc of the sun has fully set below the horizon, and it closes at the start of Isha, when the glow in the west has faded. It is usually the shortest of the five windows, about an hour to an hour and a half in the middle latitudes, and it shortens or lengthens with the season. Sunset itself is a geometric event, so calculation methods agree on it closely; they differ on when the twilight after it is judged to have ended.
The fard of Maghrib is three rakat.
