Sunrise (Shuruq)
Sunrise is the moment the upper edge of the sun appears above the horizon, and it closes the Fajr window.
Sunrise is not one of the five daily prayers. It appears on every timetable because it marks the end of the Fajr window. Calculated sunrise is a geometric event, the upper limb of the sun crossing the horizon, corrected for atmospheric refraction and for the height of the observer, so it varies far less between calculation methods than dawn or nightfall do.
